The past winter storm has brought food, financial and other basic devastation to the Memorial area. Local Houston business, Golden Thread, has stepped up to Houstonians’ call for help by donating 100% of their profits to the Houston Food Bank.
A note from the owners:
“As a local Houston business, we have felt called to stand up and do something for our beloved community and hometown of Houston — to meet the immediate and desperate need. It’s a joy to rally around and to serve those in need right here in our city. We are heartbroken over the losses we see. We want help meet the immediate and desperate need, and be the hands and feet of Jesus! There are so many people around Houston that are in critical need of basic essentials such as food and water. Millions around Texas are still facing food insecurity and the deep need for clean water. 100% of the proceeds from our Community Collection will go to the Houston Food Bank — who have already begun meeting the massive need around our great city! Every $1 you give helps provide 3 meals. Right now, one in five people in southeast Texas don’t have enough to eat. Your gift now will help provide food and hope to children, families and seniors right here in our community. Please join our efforts in fighting hunger during this critical time!”
“Throughout the coming weeks, we are giving both 20% OFF your entire order AND 100% OF ALL PROCEEDS from your purchase will go directly to the Houston Food Bank (a partner of Feeding America)! Shop 20% off site-wide with code: COMMUNITY”
