While most seniors spend their after-school time watching television or hanging out with friends, Memorial High School senior, Taylor Franklin, has spent her free time for the past
two years writing and publishing two books, both available on Amazon. The two stories follow the plot of a high school love story filled with comedic twists. Franklin’s first book, Unscripted, follows Chelsea Jay, the protagonist, a normal
teenage girl living in Los Angeles, California. Her sister sends an on-the-spot video audition to movie producers, and Chelsea is miraculously cast in a movie with Aaron Shae, who is as arrogant and insufferable as they come. Things only get worse when Chelsea has to fake a relationship with him for publicity. However, as Chelsea and Aaron get to know each other, they grow closer than they had ever realized they could, causing problems with Chelsea’s real boyfriend. The sequel, Unreal, takes place two years later, and Franklin is planning to write four more books in this series.
“What I love about my books is that Chelsea is so much like me; she has definitely helped me learn more about myself even though she’s fictional! There’s no doubt that writing is my favorite thing to do, and my number one passion in life!” The publishing of not one but two books is an accomplishment in and of itself, and Franklin’s ambition has paved herself a successful path in the writing world.
