White Elm Café Bakery recently opened at 14079 Memorial Drive on the corner of Memorial and N Kirkwood Road. The café and bakery concept was developed in a joint effort with owners Chico Ramirez of Dinner Table Investments, Tasos Katsaounis, owner of Bread Man Baking and Chez Nous owners Scott and Stacy Simonson.
White Elm’s 3,445 square foot space with outdoor patio will offer seating for up to 100 guests. It will feature a dine-in, full-service café and walk up counter offering early morning pastry and coffees, lunch & dinner daily and brunch on the weekends. The upscale-casual concept includes a full, in- house bakery program featuring oven fresh baked breads and pastries available daily.
“We are excited to open our first White Elm Café Bakery in this Memorial neighborhood,” said Christopher “Chico” Ramirez, owner of Dinner Table Investments. “We look forward to becoming an integral part of the community by not only offering a chef-driven, dine-in menu, but also a grocery aspect for quality baked goods and the perfect place to grab a pastry and coffee on-the-go.”
The bakery program will be led by Tasos Katsaounis, better known as the Bread Man, and will feature classic pastries such as croissants, scones, tarts and muffins as well as a variety of other sweet and savory creations.
Cuisine at the dine-in café is inspired by elements from the French countryside and Mediterranean coast. The daily menu designed by Chez Nous Chef owners Scott and Stacy Simonson, will feature appetizers such as Charred Octopus with Muhammara, sandwiches such as the Vadouvan Curry Chicken Salad or Cheatin Vegan, Duck Confit Pizza and Bistro Filet with Bone Marrow Butter for the summer opening menu.
