On April 24, women who want to have fun while supporting literacy will be at iWRITE’s Lucky for Literacy: Bubbles and Bingo! Luncheon Co-Chairs, Maria Vidal Morales, and Kara Kinder Vidal are hosting what has become one of the most anticipated events of the year at the Post Oak Hotel. The event supports Houston area students with writing workshops, after-school programs (there’s a waiting list!), and summer camps. Best of all, students have a chance to become published authors at iWRITE.
If you haven’t attended Bubbles and Bingo, let us give you a sneak peek. This is not your ordinary luncheon. Upon arrival, guests will sip champagne and shop at the Pop-Up Shop Pre-Party. Some of our favorite local shops and designers, including the Vintage Contessa, Coco Nola, Elaurante, and Carrie Anne Boutique, and more, will have beautiful products available with a portion of proceeds benefiting iWRITE’s literacy programs.
All guests have a chance to win fabulous prizes from event sponsors while playing eight games of bingo! Bingo caller Stephen Lewis, and emcee Casey Curry, will call out multiple surprises throughout the event including table prizes and champagne giveaways. The best-dressed and table theme competition always adds to the fun, so don’t be surprised if you see Audrey Hepburns, unicorns, 80’s wigs, and derby hats in the crowd.
Your tickets and table sponsorships provide the funding necessary for students to get off the after-school waiting list and even attend story writing summer camps hosted by professional authors and illustrators.
