The 7th annual Wags and Whiskers Brunch took place on Saturday, February 8, 2020, benefiting the Animeals program. Animeals is a unique program that provides free pet food and veterinary care to more than 1,300 dogs and cats of Interfaith Ministries’ Meals on Wheels homebound seniors.
Thanks to brunch Chair, M.A. Shute, and Honorary Chair, Don A. Sanders, 200 guests were in attendance and collectively raised more than $112,000. One of the highlights of the night was when big donor and brunch honoree, Fred G. Marshall, generously donated $500,000 to the Linda and Fred Marshall Volunteer Welcome Center at Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston.
Pet lovers in attendance enjoyed a Swoonworthy brunch while listening to long-time Animeals volunteer, Sonya Reyna, share heart-warming stories about the Animeals program and the impact it has had on the lives of homebound seniors and their furry companions. At the pet fashion show, pets and their owners strutted their stuff while Houston’s own stage star, Kristen Warren, performed “Memories” from the Broadway musical CATS. Following the fashion show, a silent auction and raffle took place with a chance to win a trip to Pelican Reef Villas in Ambergris Caye, Belize.
This fun night was a great success. A big thank you to all who attended and donated to this great cause.
