Back on Saturday November 6, 2021, it was the perfect day for the largest fundraiser yet for Nabor House Community. Nabor House Community is a faith based non-profit preschool that provides early education services to around sixty children from six months of age to four-years old. Nabor House supports low-income families in the Spring Branch area and is on the path to end poverty by providing quality, affordable early childhood education and care. With the help of many volunteers and staff, we were able to give the community neighbors a fun filled day of food, games, a petting zoo, and face painting at the annual Fall Festival. Our volunteers from Memorial High School (MOB and NHS) and Houston Hearts NCL group helped us run the games and food stations. Many thanks to the sponsors of the Fall Festival – Amegy Bank, The Canterbury Family, Central Bank, EnCap Investments, The Hranicky Family, The Lane Family, LBJ Construction, Newmark Homes and Sotheby’s-Robin Tucker. This group of sponsors were so generous and we raised over $70,000.00 that will help this school run and grow in 2022.
Nabor House was started six years ago with the goal of having a place for working single mothers to have a safe place to leave their young children while they go to school or work. Nabor House is located on Long Point Rd and most of the children who attend the school go off to Pre-K’s in SBISD. Nabor House engages their children through center-based activities, indoor and outdoor play, music and movement, and hands-on activities. The parents pay tuition for their children’s care at a fraction of traditional care. Nabor House relies on donations from outside sources to provide this much needed care for these children. Nabor House is looking for corporate and individual sponsors for this important program in Spring Branch.
