One Hundred Percent of Card Sales Benefit the American Cancer Society
Shop local, save money and save lives through the purchase of The Holiday Shopping Card, which takes place, October 22 – November 1, 2020. With the purchase of The Card for $75, shoppers receive a 20 percent discount at more than 475 participating retailers throughout the Greater Houston Area or free eats at participating restaurants. One hundred percent of The Card purchase benefits the American Cancer Society, providing much needed services such as transportation to and from treatment and cutting-edge research. Shoppers can purchase The Holiday Shopping Card online now at www.holidayshoppingcard.com or at participating area merchants in October.
Event co-chairs Elaine Gartrell and Carolyn Steele are excited about this year’s event. In addition to long-time supporters including Bering’s Hardware, Elizabeth Anthony, Kuhl-Linscomb, Tootsies, Vincent Ford Custom Apparel and Williams Sonoma, numerous new retailers are participating this year including Moreau Paris, NARS Cosmetic Boutique, Perimeter Art Gallery & Custom Framing, ThrIVe Drip Spa-West University and Rejuvenation. While shopping, Cardholders can stop for free eats at participating restaurants such as Carrabba’s – The Original on Kirby, Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café, Christie’s Seafood & Steaks, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, Kin Dee Thai Cuisine and more. Over the past 23 years, the women of VICTORY, a volunteer fundraising branch of the American Cancer Society, have raised more than $17.2 million through the sale of The Holiday Shopping Card to help in the fight against cancer. In the past year, over 6,500 cancer patients have received services through American Cancer Society’s local programs and services.
