The rise in popularity of cannabidiol (CBD) is not surprising given its numerous health and beauty benefits. This new health and beauty craze is taking the skincare world by storm.
Many people tend to stay away from CBD products because of their confusion on the legality of products. To clarify, marijuana, hemp, and CBD are all derived from the cannabis plant but all differ slightly. Marijuana and hemp are most alike because both smell and look similar, making it hard to distinguish between the two. One of the only differences between marijuana and hemp is the amount of THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, they contain. To be classified as marijuana, rather than hemp, it must have a THC level higher than 0.3%. So, while marijuana is NOT legal in Texas, hemp is, as it has 0.3% of THC or lower.
Hemp and CBD do not differ much either except for their extraction methods and therefore their prices. Hemp is obtained from a cold-pressing extraction method and CBD requires a more complicated and expensive extraction method. Companies like LeafLife Wellness are harvesting grown-in-America cannabis to create vegan and cruelty free skincare and beauty products. The anti-inflammatory, muscle-soothing, and nutritive properties, are what sets CBD products apart from traditional skin care regiments. LeafLife Wellness’ variety of products provide targeted benefits and ensures clearer and healthier skin.
