When we first moved to Houston, I was in 3rd grade and we lived in an apartment on the corner of Eldridge and Memorial Drive. The apartments were called Turkey Creek and I went to Nottingham Elementary School. I loved Memorial from the moment we moved to Houston and while we moved away a couple years later when I was in 5th grade, I knew someday I would be back. When it came time for Brent and I to settle down and raise a family, I knew Memorial was the only place I wanted to be, so we bought a home in 2009 when our daughter was in Pre-K at Wildcat Way. I’ll never forget driving around the neighborhoods and admiring the majestic trees while I read up on the great schools. Since we moved here City Centre and Metro National have really taken our area of town and built it up beautifully and we now have a thriving restaurant scene and booming business community where corporations are wanting to make their company’s headquarters right here.
In this section we introduce you to some of Memorial top realtors and a popular designer who are themselves proud to call Memorial home.
Rob Adams
Rob Adams is a native Houstonian and grew up in Briargrove. He attended St. Michael’s Catholic School, T.H. Rogers Jr. High, and Robert E. Lee High School. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin where he was in the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Rob moved back to Houston to become a stock broker but never liked the business and after the1987 market crash he thought he would try real estate and found his career. “I loved residential real estate from the start and have never looked back” said Rob. In 1993 Rob Adams Properties, Inc. was formed with the goal of creating a small “boutique” style company where the broker is actively involved in every transaction. We strive to make the buying and selling process stress free and enjoyable while providing quality guidance. “I look at every transaction as if I were the buyer or seller and we want to make each client feel that they are our only one.” Even with the fierce competition we face every day, this business model has worked for Rob Adams for 32 years. “We are in a service industry that is going through a lot of changes but there is no substitute for experience, market knowledge, and professional service.”
Rob and his wife Blake reside in Hunters Creek. They have two sons, Rob (LSU) and Holden (Texas Tech). Rob is actively involved in the community and is committed to giving back to the organizations where we work and live.

Memorial offers an incredible opportunity to live in a forest-like setting with a variety of home lifestyles from condos to estates, traditional to contemporary, zoned to exemplary schools, and in a community that is amazing. All this within close proximity to the Galleria Area, Energy Corridor and a short distance from Downtown and with its own Medical Center. It’s right in the heart of Houston.
Over our 42+ years of business, we have represented buyers and sellers in Memorial through purchases of rare penthouse units, the sale of prized estates, the acquisition and construction of new build dream homes, and right-sizing to almost anything in between. Memorial is such an amazing area of our great city and we are proud to be a part of its community!
Not only do I have my favorite places in the area, but so do our agents. Nikki Simpson and Ashley Mandola mentioned the Terry Hershey Park, Studio Movie Grill and the SBMSA as some of their favorite activities locally. Vanessa Frost Ellis and Lauren Dito Walker frequent Jonathan’s The Rub which offers a great atmosphere and variety on the menu! Jason Hendricks remarked, “Part of what gives Memorial its allure, is the close-knit feel among residents who enjoy life long relationships with their neighbors.”

What made you decide to get into Interior Design? I graduated with a degree in economics and finance and attended fashion classes in the evenings to satisfy my need for a creative outlet. I thought fashion was my calling and this led me to open my very own luxury lingerie boutique in the Houston Galleria after college graduation. Working the long hours in retail and continuously rearranging my store for saleability, opened my eyes to realize that if I combined my background in finance/real estate with fashion, my true passion would be realized. This realization guided me to attend the Art Institute of Houston to study Interior Design, and to simultaneously establish my own design firm in 2008.
What are some fun things you like to do in the Memorial area with your family? We enjoy the Memorial area a lot due to its close proximity to everything. Whether it be eating, shopping or watching a movie at City Center, working out at Lifetime Fitness, bowling at Bowlmor or going to Memorial City Mall, there is so much excitement always happening in the area and we love our neighborhood.
