The Memorial area has not always been the fast-paced, urbanized community that we live in today. In fact, time moved significantly slower in the 1930s when a five minute car ride from Taylorcrest to Memorial City Mall was actually a twenty minute horseback ride to a field where riders would stop to pick berries. A lot of time and work has gone into making Memorial what it is today, and this month’s cover story will feature some of the aspects that make up the modern day Memorial community.
