Goode Company opened Kitchen & Cantina location in the former space of the Mason Jar Restaurant (9005 Katy Freeway), which is the Goode family’s first new concept since the 2004 launch of its restaurant, bar, and honky-tonk – Goode Company’s Armadillo Palace on Kirby Drive.
A fifth-generation Texan whose family traces part of its history to life on the Texas-Mexico border, President Levi Goode paid special attention to the detail. The restaurant is filled with reclaimed wood, artisan-made fixtures, and hand-selected pieces from his family’s collection, inspired by recipes passed down from his Mexican immigrant grandmother.
The curated agave-based spirits and handcrafted cocktails include familiar favorites like the Damn Goode Margarita and its variations, along with palomas, sangrias, micheladas, and flights of tequila and mezcal. The Tex-Mex-inspired menu features Goode Company classics that are always in style. From family platters, serving four to six people to familiar combination plates and South Texas ranch-inspired dishes, the menu reflects the Goode family’s culinary heritage and traditional Texas lifestyle. Guests can expect Goode Company’s signature Campechana Extra, redfish on the half shell, Gulf Coast shrimp wrapped in bacon, mesquite-grilled snapper, enchiladas, crispy tacos, tacos al carbon, carnitas, fajitas, farm-raised Texas quail, and stuffed jalapeño rellenos.
