I must admit, ever since I took over the magazine, I have never received so many emails about a story as I got with our September issue cover story on “Best Memorial Burgers” So, I had to investigate and here is what I found out…
Ok, evidentially many people in Memorial LOVE your burgers. Tell us a little about Buff Burger!
BUFF: BuffBurger is a burger joint, serving all natural ingredients, supplied by local ranchers, farmers and bakers. (44 Farm’s beef, SlowDough Buns, Houston Dairy Maids for cheese). We believe quality meat and produce make quality burgers; they’re perfect the way they are – “In the Buff”
BuffBurger is more than an all-natural burger joint— it’s a one of a kind dining experience. Not only can you custom order your burger, but you can also choose from delicious sides like Parmesan Truffle Fries or steamed Edamame. Also choose from a selection of craft beers and wines on tap or a hand-dipped milkshake made with ice cream from a local creamery. BuffBurger allows guests to enjoy gourmet food in a fast casual setting.
Owners Paul “Buff” & Sara Burden moved to Houston in search of a place to share their dream of BuffBurger. Sara, a native Houstonian and Buff, a Londoner, knew Texas was the best place to do this, so they packed up and headed South. BuffBurger is a product of Paul’s passion for food and travel. His recipes are inspired by many different culinary cultures. He found that all great food cultures had the same things in common- fresh ingredients, prepared simply. These recipes are featured throughout the menu, and every salad, burger and side is made in house. From healthy entrees to indulgent sides, BuffBurger offers satisfying dining for everyone!
SWOON: What is your favorite menu item?
SARA: Sara’s is the Goat Cheese Burger. It is topped with Pure Luck Goat Cheese from Dripping Springs, TX, oven roasted tomatoes & Truffle Aioli all made in house!
BUFF: Buff’s is the Texan! It is a great blend of house made BBQ sauce, crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, house made pickles, and crispy onions! This is our most popular burger!
SWOON: Anything new on the menu coming next year?
BUFF: We have quite a few new items coming to the menu this next year. We just tried a new burger in the past few weeks! It was called “The Brit.” It’s topped with mango chutney, aged cheddar, arugula, and crispy bacon. We also tested a Pork Belly Banh Mi burger this summer, and it was a great hit! We hope to have that on the menu to stay!
SWOON: Are there any expansion plans for Buff Burger?
BUFF: Yes! We are currently building out our 2nd location in Montrose across from The Menil! We should open Jan 1st, 2018. We also have a 3rd location coming as well, which we hope to share soon!
SWOON: Last question, what is the MUST try burger?
BUFF: Our Burgers are outstanding, but our FRIES are to die for! Try the Parmesan Truffle Fries served with truffle aioli, or the Sea Salt Fries with our own jalapeño ketchup! (fries are hand cut twice a day, and twice fried!)
