We surveyed over 25 restaurants to find Memorial’s Best Burger… You might be surprised by our results!
Even though Connecticut claims to have invented the American hamburger, they have nothing on our choices here in Houston, Texas-and specifically Memorial! We have such a wide array of places in our area from which to choose. From the fancy to the more laid back, there are some amazing locations where we can get a delicious burger. I took to the streets of the Memorial area to find our top ten, and I was not disappointed! In all of these places, I was so impressed with standards of fresh food quality, the practice of cooking-to-order, food creativity, and out of this world customer service.
One of the first places I visited was State Fare in the Gateway Memorial shopping center. This is a popular stop for a work lunch, a girls’ lunch out or even a family shopping break. I sampled the Hicksburger and let me just say this is one tasty choice. It is so flavorful, and includes their handmade all beef patty, hot pastrami, whiskey grilled onions, gruyere cheese, Chicken Fried Fries and Lee’s special sauce. Yes, there are fries ON this burger. The taste of the Hicksburger is out of this world. The salty and tangy flavors from the pastrami, and gruyere take this to another level. If you want something a little more understated, their State Fare burger is delicious as well. You just can’t go wrong with handmade, top quality beef and a soft, buttery potato bun. They also have a burger option on their kids’ menu. And don’t forget State Fare is also known for fantastic steaks, seafood, comfort food and a weekend brunch.
