Fall semester is in full swing and speaking of Fall have you ever FALLen short of your fitness goals? I have and I did it on national TV! In a nutshell, my love for adventure led me to Iron Sports ninja gym where my passion for fitness was born. I later becoming a trainer, then recently auditioned and made it onto the NBC show “American Ninja Warrior.” On the show minutes into my race- I fell. Much earlier than I should have as I had practiced and successfully conquered a similar course a thousand times. But sometimes falling is part of the journey, and knowing you can do better is what keeps that fire lit.
Falling is where your fight begins, where character is shaped and where dreams are born. It’s not how many times you fall that counts its how many times you get back up that changes your life. When you “fall” by skipping a week of workouts-gaining a few pounds or loosing motivation don’t let the fall steal your joy in your journey. Accept that falling is just part of it.
Here are a few Tips:
• Think of falls like chapters in a book. The book doesn’t end when you fall. A new chapter begins so, keep writing your story.
• Don’t let Tuesdays “fall” determine your entire week. Don’t throw in the towel for the week because of one fall. Let today be today, it doesn’t have to determine how tomorrow goes!
• Never assume other people don’t fall. We all do even “that really fit girl you know” yep, she falls too. We are all in the same boat so lend a helping hand when people fall and know that others are there for you too.
• Use your fall as motivation. You’ve worked too hard in your journey to let your falls control your outcome! You don’t fail when you fall-you learn, you grow, you keep going!
